Harp for your Special Occasion

It has been a great joy of my life to be able to offer elegant harp music for special occasions like weddings, holiday parties, and private celebrations. I have been told by many patrons over the 20 years I've performed in Colorado that the harp music made the occasion an affair to remember. Check out my Q and A below for answers to your event questions. Reach out if you'd like more information, to request a quote or to reserve your date. I look forward to sharing harp music with you!

Wedding Q and A

Q: What type of music do you play for special events?

A: I offer a wide variety of genres including classical, Celtic, popular, romantic, jazz and latin standards. I am happy to play special requests and am always open to new music, given adequate time to find or make an arrangement of your special selection. See a select setlist Here

Q: How much do you charge for weddings and special events?

A: My rates are based on the location, travel required, the time of year, and the duration requested. I am happy to provide an all inclusive quote for your occasion once I have a few details about the event.

Q: What instrument do you bring to special events?

A: I bring my full size concert pedal harp for all occasions, unless a smaller Celtic harp is requested. My Lyon and Healy Style 30 has a full rich sound selected specifically for solo performance from the iconic Lyon and Healy Harp Factory in Chicago, IL.

Q: How far do you travel and what is involved?

A: I perform throughout the Front Range in Boulder, Denver and Golden, and often travel to wedding venues in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. When performance locations such as Aspen, Telluride, Vail, and Breckenridge require an overnight stay, I include that in your all-inclusive quote. Events between September and May often have the potential for snow, so that is a factor in deciding whether I need to stay overnight before and/or after the event to ensure I can make it there and home safely.

Q: What do you require for Set Up for Indoor and Outdoor venues?

A: I need a 4 ft by 4 ft flat space with protection from rain, snow, wind and intense sun.

Indoors Weddings: I bring my own stand, seat, and lighting. For both indoor and outdoor weddings, I don't typically need external power or amplification. I can bring an external amplifier if requested, though it is not usually needed as the harp has built-in amplification in the extended soundboard.

Outdoor Weddings: I love playing outdoors in the many stunning venues Colorado offers, and I typically can accommodate a variety of weather conditions at outdoor venues. I can typically endure any conditions your guests can and it has been a rare occasion that I have had to decline to play, but I do reserve the right to not play in conditions that could damage me or my harp.

Adverse Conditions for the Harp: Very low temperatures make the strings go wildly out of tune and can crack the soundboard due to the tightening of the strings. The harp doesn't make sound with water running down the soundboard (I've learned from experience), and my fingers and the strings don't play well in temperatures below 40 degrees. If I am playing for more than 30 minutes in the intense sun at high altitude, shade from sun is appreciated. It is typical to get strong thunder and lighting storms at altitude on summer afternoons and I am happy to accommodate delayed weddings due to our fast moving storms.

The Take Home: Due to the extreme weather conditions we encounter in Colorado at all times of year, it is recommended you have an indoor venue option available and be open to using it if conditions would make you and your guests more comfortable in an indoor setting and make the occasion a better experience for all.

Q: Do you offer Duo, Trio and Quartet Performances?

A: I work with select highly skilled professional musicians and can arrange a Duo, Trio or Quartet performance with ample notice.

Q: What are your core values when it comes to offering music for special events?

A: My goal in sharing music is to ensure your day is one to remember. I recognize that there are many moving parts at special events, and I strive to accommodate all requests and work with your event planners and site coordinators to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Q: How do I book my special event?

A: Contact me via email, phone or text and I can provide a quote once I have a few details about the event. To save your date I need a 50% deposit and the return of my contract. Special events are typically booked up to two years in advance and Saturdays in Summer and Fall are often booked out well in advance so I recommend booking as soon as you have booked your event venue.
